Clusters of pea-like, deep  pink flowers are produced in glorious abundance in late April-May  before the leaves emerge in spring.

Heart-shaped bluish-green leaves that turn yellow in autumn.

Bean-like fruits follow the flowers in summer.

The Judas Tree gets it’s name because it is thought that Judas hung himself from a specimen of this tree.

    Will Cercis perform in clay (heavy) soil.

      Yes, they don’t mind clay but best lighten up the soil in the place you would be planting it.
