Stella is a long lived medium sized self fertile spreading tree, hardy and suitable for growing in the North & Scotland. With its beautiful blossom covering the tree like snow, it is a glory to behold. Fruiting in July, you have to be quick as the cherries are greatly loved by birds.
Rich, well drained aerated fertile soil is essential for good performance. Any pruning should be done early in the growing season and then only to remove dead or diseased growth. They do love mulch and spray seaweed solution monthly for to make them really happy. Grown on a Colt rootstock makes for a better sized tree for many gardens.
