An architectural delight, Italian Cypress are a familiar sight in Italy and other hot countries. A fully hardy evergreen, they will flourish well in the UK in a warm sunny position. They need a light well-drained soil and appreciate a clip once a year! Do not allow more than one leader as this would lead to an ungainly shape. Staking is important until they become established.
They do house some birds as their dense foliage is a good warm protective place to nest.
They grow to a height of approx 12/14m – 36/40ft. All trees benefit from a weed, mulch and compost in spring.
