The Wayfaring tree is a deciduous shrub-like tree with vigorous upright growth. It has broad oval grey-green leaves that change to orange red in autumn. Delicate five-lobed white flowers in late spring and early summer are followed by egg-shaped red fruits that ripen to black.
Fully hardy and suitable for most gardens, it grows in sun or semi-shade and prefers a not too dry soil.
