Striped orange and red appples over pale green. Late fruit, sweet crispy flavour which store well. Ashmead's Kernel and James Grieve will cross-pollinate.
Apple trees are a pretty shape, with a tall trunk and branches which become gnarled as they age. Deciduous with oval or elliptic green leaves, apple trees give a glorious show of blossom in spring opening white from pink buds. Fruit is produced in late summer and autumn. A hardy tree, it likes sun and well drained fertile soil but will tolerate clay soil.
