Pears trees closely resemble apple trees but have shiny leaves with a more upright growth. Clusters of white blossom in mid-spring with large pale fruit changing to yellow, cropping in autumn. Pears have the most delicious flavour and can be used in a range of delicious dishes.
Partially self-fertile, pears can cross pollinate with most other fruit trees. For best results plant in deep loamy soil in a sunny position.
